Our crochet/knit projects going to Mongolia from Colorado!

  Three of us from the church made some hats/scarves/booties that are going to the Dulaan project in Arizona and then onto Mongolia where the temperatures are -40.  They are all sizes from young to old and hopefully can be used for those that need them!  There are a lot of charity programs available out there for your crafty projects that will help warm your heart also ! Thanks Linda and Silvia for the help in this!

  After taking a photo and alas ! wondering how my doxie sprouted two tails...indeed upon further examination of the case, I am glad to report he is well and no extra appendage---guess he wanted a laugh today! sorry quality not well on photo--it was taken from iphone.

Bread day-blustery day-I am eeyore!

I have enjoyed making bread and never did get it right when I followed the recipes for bread, so when I followed the back of the yeast package, well , duh, I had progress!! And if you get a chance to get a silicone bread pan (a present from hub) they DO make a lot of difference!  So on the Colorado blustery day, I feel like Eeyore, so I have slapped some bread with some spices in it to see if that will work... :)

 For all you that homeschool--don't sweat the small stuff--I did too much and my kids are still halfway ok!! we moms can't pack that guilt trip everyday that we are doing something wrong, not enough, etc. Please look after your health also, as moms do hold alot inside of them and it can do some yuckies to you emotionally and physically. Our kids will still be productive adults (God willing) as we lead by example daily and they can (believe or not) see we make mistakes and life goes on! So travel to that little island we have set aside in our minds where the winds gently blows a song of sleep as the sun warms your soul! Don't forget to take your bible..I would take all my friends on an island trip if I could--so be prepared when I call you SOMEDAY!! love to all in God's blessings!

For those who have ever wondered what a triops is--we have been raising one for about 3 months.  It came in a kit from the hobby lobby store and from the eggs hatched this was the one to remain strong.  An interesting quest for the kids and I must say for the female adult in this house!!! Inexpensive and fun!

In memory of parents killed in Colorado

  This last Tuesday was one that left a smaller community in Colorado saddened by the death of the Longs (above)  A homeschool family  of  7 children from ages 5 to adult age leaves many with questions of despair as the suspect in custody is their 12 year old son.  This particularly saddens me as I have an almost 12 year old son and to comprehend this is beyond words.  Two siblings were injured also and are recovering after the 5 year old girl was stabbed and the 9 year old brother was stabbed and shot.
Prayers to the siblings and extended family during this terrible tragedy.
